As a therapist and life coach, I offer a variety of tools to support people in getting to the core of their inner obstacles and creating positive change. I work best with people who are committed to their own growth, seeking depth, and who are on quest for higher levels of consciousness. I consider myself to be a work in progress. With humility, I view your journey from a place of compassion and accountability. I specialize in bridging emotional and spiritual development while empowering each person to embody their deepest levels of wisdom and authenticity. Over the past 24 years, I’ve worked with thousands of clients from varying walks of life. I’m highly sensitive to racial and gender disparities, issues impacting LGBTQIA people, and a range of cultural norms. I love the diversity in the Bay Area and I also work remotely with many clients who reside in other parts of the world. 

I launched my private practice in 2004. However my career in the mental health profession started in 1996 when I entered a masters program in clinical social work. Passionate about making a difference in the world, I spent the next 10+ years working as a therapist with children, adolescents, families and adults in urban clinics and public schools. I have also mentored therapists and coaches in training. Because clinical social workers are trained to consider the context of each person's environment when providing counseling services, I've always explored a variety of ways that my clients can be supported in their journeys as well as the relevance of drawing from my own experiences. I believe in showing up for sessions as a real person - not a stuffy blank slate. I provide a lot of feedback, ask probing questions, and challenge my clients to grow.

I have a special interest in integrating spirituality with psychotherapy and coaching. I'm not talking about any particular religion, but rather the willingness to look at the challenges you face in the context of some type of universal big picture or soul level journey. Only you can determine the particular meaning this holds.  

Fun Stuff: I’m a life long animal lover, dog dad to an exceptionally sweet (and somewhat neurotic) doodle, and an ocean lover. Some of the photos on this website are pictures that I’ve taken. Holistic health is a long time interest of mine. I love the performing arts, did stage (and a smidge) of film acting years ago, and directed children’s theater for 10 years. I’m passionate about social justice, human rights and social policy. Originally from the northeast, I've been in San Francisco since 2004. I consider myself to be an east coast-west coast hybrid in terms of my outlook on life.
