My Background:

I launched my private practice in 2004. However my career in the mental health profession started in 1996 when I entered a masters program in clinical social work. Passionate about making a difference in the world, I spent the next 10+ years working as a therapist with children, adolescents, families and adults in urban clinics and public schools. I have also mentored therapists and coaches in training. Because clinical social workers are trained to consider the context of each person's environment when providing counseling services, I've always explored a variety of ways that my clients can be supported in their journeys as well as the relevance of drawing from my own experiences. 

Fun Stuff: I’m a life long animal lover, dog dad to an exceptionally sweet (and somewhat neurotic) doodle, and an ocean lover. Some of the photos on this website are pictures that I’ve taken. Holistic health is a long time interest of mine. I love the performing arts, have done a bunch of stage acting, and I directed children’s theater for 10 years. I’m passionate about social justice, human rights and social policy. Originally from the northeast, I've been in San Francisco since 2004. I consider myself to be an east coast-west coast hybrid in terms of my outlook on life.
